No Homicides Reported In Miami In Six Weeks, First Time Since 1957

For the first time since 1957, there have not been any homicides reported in Miami in the last six weeks. The novel coronavirus is to thank or this historical milestone. Although bittersweet, at least something positive came out of it for Miami residents. The report of no homicides in the last six weeks come from the Miami Police Department, and proudly might I add. However, the streak recently ended as two homicides were reported.

Miami Police Chief said “while the numbers are down, he still worries about unreported domestic violence and child abuse cases”. He also stated that the number of auto burglaries has started to rise.
