Arrest Made In 14YO Tampa Girl’s Murder

Tampa, FL- On Thursday afternoon, Tampa Police Detectives announced they had a suspect in custody for the murder of 14 year old Nilexia Alexander.

On May 6, 2022, detectives were investigating the murder of a young female found off of Floribraska Ave. The body was later identified as that of 14 year old Nilexia Alexander, a missing teen from Temple Terrace, FL. On Thursday afternoon, 44 year-old Ronny Walker was arrested by the US Marshall’s Service after DNA samples extracted from his vehicle matched that of Ms. Alexander.

Since the discovery of Ms. Alexander’s body, detectives had been working diligently to identify a vehicle seen in the area at the time of the murder. The vehicle was identified as belonging to Walker. Cell phone tower pings from Alexander and Walker’s phones made it possible to determine that Alexander was in Walker’s vehicle at the time of the murder.

The Tampa Police Department will be holding a press conference on local news channels this morning at 11:30am. Nilexia Alexander’s mother is expected to be present at the press conference.

Walker is currently being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on one charge of premeditated murder with a firearm.
